betafemale.blogspot.com The Beta Female is a blogging project I started on December 13, 2007 from my hospital bed in Phoenix, AZ. The purpose of the project is to track my thoughts and progress as I attempt to cure myself of ulcerative colitis using the Marshall Protocol. In it, I cover a variety of topics related to inflammatory bowel disease ranging from conventional drugs and surgery to diets and cleanses, intermingled with relevant philosophical musings about medicine, science, and my life.  It is my goal to provide a balanced, realistic picture of what it takes to truly recover from chronic disease. I haven't reached the finish line yet. The content of my posts may, at times, be very detailed, honest, and personal. Readers may sometimes find it offensive,  unprofessional, or perhaps even disgusting.  I do leave out the names of any doctors, friends, businesses, and others who have not given me permission to mention them in my posts.
